"A Poem"

I SEE HUMANS BUT NO HUMANITY

WE'RE STILL CHAINED IN THE LAND OF THE FREE

PEOPLE SAY, "TRY HARD, YOU'LL DO GREAT"

BUT HOW CAN I DO ANYTHING WHEN IM SURROUNDED WITH HATE

MY PEOPLE ARE DYING

MY BLACK MOTHERS ARE CRYING

WE'RE LOSING OUR LIVES, DYING FOR SIMPLY EXISTING

BUT YOU GO HOME, AND GET TO KISSING

YOUR KIDS, YOUR WIVES, YOUR HUSBANDS

WHILE WE'RE STRUGGLING, AND STILL GETTING NOTHING

GOING NOWHERE

CAN'T YOU HEAR THEM?

WAILING IN THE STREETS

PRAYING FOR JUSTICE

HOPING FOR PEACE?

CAN'T YOU SEE THEM?

STANDING ALONG THE ROAD

HAND IN HAND, FIGHTING AGAINST THE COLD

TEARS FLYING IN THE WIND, MORE STORIES TO BE TOLD

CAN YOU FEEL WHAT THEY FEEL?

WATCHING ANOTHER OFFICER KILL

ONE OF THEM, ONE OF THEIRS

ITS A HEART, WE ALL SHARE

BUT ITS BEING TORN, BIT BY BIT

AFTER EVERY HIT, EVERY HIT

EVERY BULLET RIPPIN THROUGH THE AIR

WE SHOUT, WE SCREAM, AND WE ROAR

BLACKLIVESMATTER

CAUSE THEY DON'T MATTER TO NO ONE ANYMORE

ITS OUR WAR CRY
